Victory @ Hamilton Mill :: June 16-23, 2012
Victory World Church @ Hamilton Mill sent a team to Nicaragua in late June to work with LifeLink International -- this was the very first missions trip for the church and we were honored to have them! Hosted by missionaries Mike & Deborah Turner and the LifeLink team, VHM came with the attitude of servitude to the people of Nicaragua.
Blessing two local congregations, the team brought songs in Spanish, testimonies and a message for the people. Each service was an opportunity for team members to get outside of their shell and share more of themselves and their relationship with God.
At the school, the men worked very hard helping dig out the footers for our new sidewalks linking our new bathroom buildings and the offices. It was hot, but they gave it their all and accomplished a lot!
In the classroom, the team shared crafts that they’d prepared to do with the students. It was a big success, giving the students the opportunity to show their creativity and individuality. The ladies also helped with our snack and lunch program, delivering the vitamins, juice and food to our students with smiles and encouraging words.
In the afternoons, the team offered hair washing, nail painting and hair styling, not just to our students, but the older children who live near the base too! It was a lot of fun to watch the children smile as they checked out their new styles in the mirror.
The week was capped off with a blessing service for the LifeLink teachers and team and included a word of encouragement by Dede Nesbitt. It was followed by a foot washing ceremony, prayer and refreshments. The last day of ministry was an anointed time of service and fellowship.
We had a blessed week and can’t wait to see our VHM friends back in Nica soon! Thank you Pastor Johnson Bowie and Victory-Hamilton Mill!!
