Investing in the future through sustainable farming at The LifeLink School

Aquaponics Collage 2

Did you know that LifeLink has its very own aquaponics and organic gardening system at The LifeLink School in Nicaragua?

We currently grow a variety of vegetables AND we raise Tilapia right on site. Our short term goal is to be able to use the food in our daily meals with the children. Our long term goal is to teach our older students sustainable farming as a skill to earn a living and provide for their families.

Missionary Mickey Emmert is responsible for the development and oversight of this ministry branch of LifeLink. Recently, while buying supplies, Mickey mentioned our Aquaponics system to a local Nicaraguan company who sells water tanks. They were so impressed that they asked to feature his grow systems in their advertising.

“I was buying some tanks to ice 1300 cokes in for our ladies conference. I showed the sales lady what I have been using their tanks for. She showed the manager and they asked if they could use my pictures to advertise other uses for their tanks” –Mickey Emmert, LifeLink Missionary

“We congratulate LIFELINK INTERNATIONAL NICARAGUA for finding creative applications to our products. It’s all an example in the region. You too, can be a source of ideas.”

Tanque

This is just another example of how God uses the ordinary things of life to impact a nation and how YOU are an integral part of making a difference in the future lives of our students!
